Christmas Concert
Just a reminder of our concert on Dec. 14th. You can see the program here. I can hardly believe that this is our 10th season. We have seen many of our musicians come and go for many reasons, including death, but those of us who were there the first night we began this wonderful adventure and there are a few of us, are still there because we dearly love making music. Hope to see you at the concert :o)

Log house
I took this pix yesterday in Rosedale. It's just down the road from Len's place and I have enjoyed watching the builders pile one log on top of the other, figuring they had a plan and by golly, they did. I am not into log homes, but I think this one turned out quite nice.

Pacific Knight
This bench is a new addition to the Eddon Boat Park project. It sits on the sidewalk above the park and is a great place for folks to watch boats come and go on the bay. I see a small plaque on the bench and if I were to guess what it might say, I'd say it's a memorial to Nick Jerkovich, one of the many Jerkovich brothers, and who passed away a few years ago.The Pacific Knight was his boat and it was a beauty. His son lives just across the street in the background so I'd be willing to bet either he or his wife is the donor.

Tree for Thanksgiving
Alright already, I know we haven't even celebrated Thanksgiving yet, but because Jacob spent most of the day with me yesterday, we had to find things to keep ourselves busy, so we opened the box that held the new Christmas tree, one thing lead to another and before we collapsed in total exhaustion, the lights were on along with all the trimmings. Jacob did most of the work, as you can see, and is now looking forward to helping mom and dad do theirs.
Because mom and dad had decided to leave Seattle at going home from work time, they found themselves stuck in a parking garage. After a 20 minute wait, with no forward movement, they decided to stay put, go out to dinner and try again later. By the time they finally came to pick him up, he was tucked in my bed, fast alseep.

Visitors
It's always a treat to see the deer wander by and this morning mama and her two younguns sauntered past looking for good things to eat. Jacob and I saw them yesterday at the end of our road and I kinda think they hang out in the woods behind me. Even with the leaves mostly gone from the trees, there are enough evergreen bushes to give them a place to feel safe.

Fishin
Yesterday was Bergy's first time fishing with her dad. They have been "fall fishing" just outside the harbor and it was a beautiful day, a holiday and no school, so it was easy for her to go along. In the old days there were no iPads to ease the bordom, and it can get boring with all the waiting around, but she's pretty good at finding things to do when the hours are long, so I bet she was a nice addition to the "crew" :o)
This video gives you a peek at where they fish and how they fish.

My veteran
Today is Veteran's Day...and this is a pix of my husband who was a Korean War Veteran. Luckily he was sent to Alaska to serve and not to the korean peninsula.

SigneLynn
The Signe Lynn is just completing her trip from Fishermen's Wharf in Seattle to her new home in Gig Harbor. Her owners made the move to their new home in the harbor recently and now that the boat is here...they are at last, all in one place. The owner is the father in law of one of my son's and the reason they moved here is, of course, because of grandkids. They are a fun couple and a nice addition to the harbor. Welcome home Bob and Signe.

Dr. Cobbs
Last night was orchestra....and because our conductor and wife were off on some adventure...he arranged to have a good friend of his, Dr. Paul Elliot Cobbs, work with us for two magical hours. My heart and flute are still singing :o)

Jacob
Okay....time for a new pix....how bout this one of Jacob....it's much better than his halloween pix. My friend Kerry. who lives in Canada, and who I met on the internet, sent the stuffed animal to Jacob when he was little. It used to have a red jacket, which I know is around here somewhere, but to be honest, it's much nicer to cuddle without the jacket. Occasionally we dig through all the toys and find all the animals...mostly Beanie Babies, and as of now...they are all snuggled together on the love seat in the living room resting because they were used in a huge animal fight the other day with Jacob's daddy, his uncle Nick, Nick's friend Jill who is recovering from shoulder surgery and of course granny, who has a mean right arm. When granny threw the frog and it hit her crystal glasses, the fight was over. It took me back to the days of raising just boys...things were always flying and nothing was sacred.

Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween, a day late :o) The kids stopped by to trick or treat yesterday and then headed downtown to the businesses who hand out candy to the kids. The rain held off during their treck and they came home loaded down with goodies. Bergy was a gymnast, Jacob was a blue dragon and Ingy was Cleopatra for the second year in a row...though last year she had all her front teeth :o) Again, another fun day for the kids and mom and dad were ready to call it a day when they left because they had also helped at school with daddy in one room and mommy in the other. I just counted my blessings as they all left, thankful that my days of doing those things are over :o)
