This evening the Peninsula Youth Orchestra performed. I went down for a bit, listened to the youngest players play, then walked home to hear the rest from my deck. The crowd was a lot smaller tonight, probably because the weather has been threatening rain all afternoon. It did hold off though, and the kids played their hearts out. Most public schools don't have orchestras so those who want to play a string instrument find other places to make music. I play in a band and an orchestra, and there are good things about both. I attended a "band camp" for a week this summer, with a 100 people in the band, and boy oh boy, did we make a grand sound!!!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJJVsFKem6w Give this a listen...our 100 piece band played it and made everyone's hair stand on end.
