What's Up At The Symphony

Phew...our concert is over and we can think about other things.....like the music for our next concert :o)
We made a lot of mistakes last night in our first two numbers...but we didn't let that stop our fun and when we played What's Up At The Symphony, our audience forgot the suffering we had put them through and the  smiles came back on their faces.
One of the numbers we tortured to death was Afternoon Of a Faun by Debussy. It is a flutists dream to play and when accompanied with really good players its incredible as it's a lot of "feeling"when to come in.  Last night quite a few lost their sense of feel and ability to count so there was no fooling anyone that we were hopelessly lost through the first half.  We had tried to play it a couple of years ago, and it was not possible, but our condutor felt we were ready for it now.  Nope...not ready yet.
Here's another cute number we did called Happy Tooter. Our conductor rescued it out of the trash bin 30 years ago when he was a student at the U of W. He had it in his garage and debated  whether he should keep it or toss it... see what you think.  It's fun to play so I vote keep :o)
